Blackawton Primary School

One of a suite of sites designed for the 'Our School Federation', this site required customised colours and design, using the federation site as a starting point. Custom graphics, incorporating the logo, were also required. As with the other sites in the federation, they needed a means of letting their customers (mainly parents) quickly access newsletters and other letters home. This required a number of custom content types. Additionally they wanted to use heavy imagery and galleries. To accomplish this effectively and not swamp their web space we used a flickr.com integration, giving them unlimited space to upload and embed gallery upon gallery of images; which is something they have done within many of the information pages and most of the stories.

As with every school website the key is up-to-date content and pictures and so a person was appointed specifically to add content. This meant two things: 1) they needed training and Three Things conducted two formal face-to-face extended training sessions and a great deal of additional email support to ensure the content admin for the school achieved a high level of familiarity and confidence with the system (Drupal). This has resulted in a current, vibrant site which I am proud to include in my portfolio
